Music Inspired by the Holy Land. Composed by Arlen Yanch of Streets By Night Productions
50% of all proceeds from this project will be donated to a small non-profit organization called Funbichoco.
A group of young professionals, all but one of them natives of the Chocó Pacific Coast region of Colombia, started FUNBICHOCÓ in 1989 to promote social and economic development based on the use and generation of knowledge. It first offered the Tutorial Learning System, an innovative integrated high school curriculum developed by FUNDAEC, in rural communities near the provincial capital of the region, and quickly branched out into other educational fields including health, environment, democracy, gender equity, and small businesses.
In 2007 it started making small business loans to women displaced by violence. In 2013 it introduced the Community Bank model in which loans are made within a group from funds saved by the members of the same group. In addition to community banks it currently promotes junior youth groups as an alternative to adolescent criminal gangs and continues to expand the Center for Excellence on six hectares of land where pertinent knowledge is shared, applied, and generated.
